In an economy that continues to see rising unemployment rates, it’s becoming more apparent that finding a job requires a bit more creativity than it once did. This entire site was started from my own creative attempts.
Which means when I was contacted by Allan Fried of CareerIntervention.com to create his presentation “Find a Job Without Looking”, I was definitely on board.
This was my second year to attend South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive. Like last year, I had an absolute blast and loved meeting up with so many amazing people. I made it a point to attend many more meetups and parties this year and the difference was beyond comparison!
I knew before even going that I wanted to do a SlideShare presentation to highlight what I saw and heard/read on Twitter. So I’m very pleased with the result as I think it captures my experience with the conference.
When you create a buzz of over 30,000 views in just 3 days with something called the ANTIResume Manifesto, you develop a mindset for challenging things that others view as impossible.
And you make sure that you associate with others who challenge the impossible too!
The word ‘manifesto’ is used so often that people have forgotten its actual definition: A public declaration of intent.
I mean for this manifesto to live up to its definition.
Making yourself heard is a necessary component to success.
But where, to who, and how you will say it may elude you.
If only someone could give you a few pointers.
Thousands of words in hundreds of blog posts every week.
An endless sea of ebooks and “manifestos”.
Multitudes of Twitterers, Facebook fans, and statuses updates on every possible social network conceivable.
We consume a lot of information on a regular basis.
But how much actually inspires us?
Feeling held back because you lack in the “education” part of your resume?
Think that success is out of your reach?
Are you waiting for permission to be successful?
This presentation was done in collaboration with Srini Rao of BlogcastFM.com as a recap to some of the interviews he did while there. It was shared multiple times via Google Plus moreso than any other location and the response was fantastic!
